Bird Island - 'species list'

This list of all the bird species I've seen and photographed during our many visits to Bird Island, Seychelles

accompanies the associated destination write-up and photo gallery.  As there are a number of species that don't feature in the main 'collections' album I've taken this opportunity to include a few thumbnail images of some of them.

IUCN Red List of Threatened Species : Vulnerable (VU), Endangered (EN), Critically Endangered (CR)

Endemic species : only found in Seychelles,  Endemic subspecies : only found in Seychelles, although other closely related subspecies are found elsewhere,  Native : found in Seychelles and elsewhere, but arrived naturally rather than introduced, Resident : equivalent to native, but breeds on Bird Island,  Migrant : regular annual visitor,  Vagrant : occasional visitor.
